Assassin’s Creed - Completed
Jan 6th, 2008 by Steve
Assassin’s Creed? Should have been called Warrior’s Creed with the lack of stealth involved. I was expecting to sneak around, creep behind my targets, and slip a blade into them before disappearing back into the shadows. Whilst this was the case for a couple of my jobs, brute force was the way for the rest, simply hacking my way through hoards of city guards in broad daylight to reach my target. In fact, the final stages offered no other option, simply throwing large groups of guards in my path for me to dismember before being allowed to progress to the next part of the game.
Naturally, part of the story, the present day plot, has remained unresolved to allow a sequel which, if released, I imagine will take place in a different time frame and location. I really hope a sequel appears because, while Assassin’s Creed had it’s many problems, repetitive gameplay, illogical NPC actions, very annoying beggers, etc, it’s still remains a very enjoyable and gorgeous looking game. Bring on Assassin’s Creed 2 I say.
This game annoyed me so much that I never bothered to finish it. Such a disappointing game it was like a balloon being popped with a needle.
I think the game has been unfairly viewed by many. Yes, it has problems but it still offers a beautiful, immersive world to explore, and I had great fun from it. A 7/10 title foe me.
