Pokémon Diamond - Completed
Sep 5th, 2007 by Steve
I finally cracked Pokémon Diamond in the wee small of hours of last Thursday morning. I got Sonic Advance, The Minish Cap, and ChuChu Rocket! for holiday gaming but they didn’t get a look in with Pokémon demanding my attention. Stoppping Team Galactic and then earning my eighth and final gym badge wasn’t too hard but getting through Victory Road and tackling the Elite Four got a little tricky.
I beat the first of the Elite Four and then tried to go back to the Pokémon centre to heal and found that the doors behind me were locked meaning that I would have to fight all the Elites in one go only using the healing potions I was carrying between fights. I fell at the second Elite and so spent an hour or so doing some very tedious grinding to get the levels of my pokémon up so I could mount a better challenge for the title of Pokémon champion.
This time I just about got past the last Elite only to find that there was another opponent, the actual Pokémon champion herself. She squashed me in seconds so I had to spend another hour plus grinding before returning and finally completing the main game at the 48 hour mark.
There is a bit for me to go back and do, I still don’t have a full pokédex, about four more pokémon to discover, I have some sidequests to finish, and there are further battle challenges awaiting me after Victory Road but I did see the credits roll and so I have finally completed another title.
Apparently, just seeing the credits roll doesn’t count as completing the game…
Sounds awfully familiar. I take it that’s something I’ve said to you in the past then?
Anyway, the credits rolled and “FIN” came up on the screen, does that therefore count?
